One Family at a Time: Emergency Food Relief for Families in Khuzestan

A $90 emergency food credit can help one household purchase essential food staples during a period of rising prices due to severe inflation and growing food insecurity. The campaign aims to support approximately 1,000 vulnerable families, including women-headed households, older adults living alone, cancer patients, and families caring for members with severe illnesses.

One Family at a Time

The Problem
Families across Ahvaz, Khuzestan are facing growing food insecurity as conflict, inflation, unemployment, and rising prices continue to reduce household income and purchasing power. Women-headed households, older adults living alone, individuals undergoing cancer treatment, and families caring for members with severe or incurable illnesses are among those most affected. For many, purchasing essential food staples has become an increasing source of financial and emotional stress.

The Solution
This campaign will provide 1,000 eligible households with restricted food credits that can be used at participating stores to purchase approved essentials, including rice, pasta, cooking oil, beans, lentils, canned tuna, dates, baby food, and other staple items. The credit system allows each family to choose food based on its specific needs while preserving dignity and ensuring that funds are used only for approved food purchases.

The Impact
• 1,000 families supported
• Approximately 4,000–5,000 individuals reached
• Increase food security while giving vulnerable households the freedom to choose the essential items they need.

$90 can provide one household with an emergency food credit.
